Who We Are

Financial Expert Independent Ltd is an Appointed Representative of Financial Expert Partnership Limited, which is directly authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Our FCA registration number is 565800.

Our Advice Process

We follow a structured five-step process to ensure our recommendations fully meet your needs:

  1. Financial Fitness Assessment
    We assess your financial position in the event of serious illness, or the premature death of yourself or your partner. This helps you understand your current vulnerability and what protection could do for you.
  2. Personal Goal Interview
    We agree on your priorities and protection preferences. If you wish us to review existing policies, we will require copies of your insurance certificates to ensure our recommendation is as accurate as possible.
  3. Medical Questionnaire
    To create a recommendation that suits your needs, we need to fully understand your health history. This information may affect the terms offered by insurance providers. Where health issues are identified, we research the market before making a recommendation.
  4. Insurance Services and Costs Document
    We explain how we work, what products are available to you, and what level of ongoing service we provide.
  5. Strategy and Solution Presentation
    We present a personalised Recommendation Report covering a summary of your needs and objectives, our recommendation, and the reasons behind the advice. You then make an informed decision about whether the proposed solution meets your expectations.

Which Services Do We Offer?

  • Personal Insurance — After assessing your personal needs and circumstances, we provide advice and arrange the contract on your behalf.
  • Business Protection — We provide price information and advice after you have provided us with your specific demands and needs for the relevant type of insurance.

The Cost of Our Services

No adviser feeWe do not charge a fee for any of our services. We receive a commission from the policy provider when a policy is arranged. This commission will always be disclosed to you before you commit to any policy.

Our advisers will never ask you to pay cash or transfer money to their personal accounts. Any premium payments are made directly to the insurer.

Mutual Benefits from Full Disclosure

We will always act in your best interest. In order for our advice to fully meet your protection needs, it is essential that you provide your adviser and the insurance company with accurate, complete, and truthful information.

ImportantFailure to disclose all relevant information may lead to an inappropriate recommendation. Concealing medical information or material facts at application stage, or failing to inform your insurer of a significant life change during the policy term, may result in rejection of a claim.

Your adviser will always help you understand what needs to be disclosed and how to present your information correctly to the insurer.

Ongoing Service

As an FEI client, you receive ongoing support from both your adviser and our customer care team:

  • Annual Review — Your adviser will contact you at least once a year to confirm your protection still meets your needs. If your circumstances change at any time, please contact your adviser immediately.
  • Policy Changes — Your adviser will apply any necessary amendments when your circumstances change.
  • Trust Placement — Where your policy includes life insurance, your adviser will recommend writing it into a trust. This ensures the insurer can pay the claim directly to your beneficiaries without going through probate.
  • Claims Support — Our customer care team will support you through the full claims process, acting on your behalf when dealing with the insurer.
  • Free Will Writing — As an FEI client, you have exclusive access to our professional will writing service through Will Writing Network, available after accepting the terms of our service agreement.
  • Trust Arrangement Tool — We provide access to our free trust arrangement service to ensure your life policies are correctly structured.

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. If you make a complaint and we are unable to meet our liabilities, you may be entitled to compensation from the FSCS.

Protection Insurance

Advice and arrangement of long-term protection insurance are covered at 100% of the claim, without an upper limit.

General Insurance

Advice and arrangement of general insurance are covered at 90% of the claim, without an upper limit.

Professional Indemnity Insurance

Every Financial Expert Independent adviser is covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance with a sum assured of £1,000,000. This provides additional protection for our clients in the event of a claim.

Personal Data Protection

The personal information you provide will assist your adviser in giving you the best advice, as required by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. Your personal data is collected, stored, and used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

Before collecting any Special Category Data (including health and medical information), we will issue you with our Privacy Notice and request your explicit consent.

Identity Verification

All financial service transactions are subject to the Money Laundering Regulations and the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. We verify the identity of our clients electronically before arranging any protection above a specified value, and during our ongoing relationship.

Governing Law and Force Majeure

This agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. In the event of any dispute, the client irrevocably agrees to be bound by the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Financial Expert Independent Ltd shall not be in breach of this agreement and shall not incur liability if there is any failure to perform its duties due to circumstances reasonably beyond its control.
